AS Graanul Invest used its option and ordered the second combined heat and power plant (CHP) from URBAS Maschinenfabrik Ges.m.b.H

Graanul Invest group company Sia Incukalns Energy used its option and ordered from URBAS Maschinenfabrik Ges m.b.H the second combined heat and power plant (CHP) near to  Incukalns pellet factory.

CHP production capacity is 3,99 MW electricity and 11 MW of heat. Produced electricity will be sold to the grid.  At the moment we are looking into a new technology where  part of the heating energy will be used for cooling to  improve pellet quality.

CHP main fuel is bark and forest chips. Plant is using grate burning technology with the steam turbine. It will come online and start the electricity production in November 2014.

It is  Graanul Invest group`s  4th biomass fired CHP plant.

Earlier on the 8th of April 2013 Graanul Invest contracted URBAS Maschinenfabrik Ges.m.b.H to deliver combined heat and power plant (CHP) near to the Incukalns pellet factory. CHP size is 3,99 MWe electricity and 11 MW of heat production.
