Half-year results 2013: Sales and further increased

The German Pellets Group has continued its growth in the first six months of this year . The positive business development is based on the growing demand for wood pellets in almost all Western European countries. Decisive for the sales development of the German Pellets Group of expanding the distribution network , the trading business and increasing sales prices have been . At the same time higher raw material costs had to be absorbed . The German Pellets Group achieved until 30 June 2013 a total Group revenues of 266 million euros . This is an increase of 48 million euros compared to the same period last year . Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization ( EBITDA) in the first half of the year at around 19 million euros (previous year EUR 18.4 million ) .

The first half of 2013 was marked by the completion of the plant in the U.S. state of Texas with an annual capacity of 578,000 tons. The commissioning was completed in August . Currently, the first pellets from the plant in Woodville will be shipped via the newly built warehouse and logistics facility in Port Arthur (Texas ), which has about 80,000 tons of capacity, to Europe.

At the beginning of the second half started the construction of a new plant in the U.S. state of Louisiana with an annual capacity of 1.1 million tons. The U.S. plant will help to make German Pellets independent of fluctuations in the availability of raw materials in Europe and related price adjustments.
