Beginning with the warmer weather is the price of wood pellets on average lowered by approx. 15 EUR / t according to the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association ( DEPV ) in Berlin.

A ton pellets currently costs  257.27 EUR , which is 6 percent less than last month and 5 percent less than in April 2013. A kilogram of wood pellets is available for 25.73 €cents and one kWh heat from pellets costs 5.15 cents. a price advantage  compared to fuel oil of 36 percent.

Last winter the German private sector consumed between October 2013 to March 2014 rd . 1 million tonnes of pellets saving around of 1.6 million tonnes of CO2

Central Germany has in April the lowest prices, 255.66 EUR / t for t 6 order quantity . In northern and eastern Germany customers pay on average 262.54 EUR per ton, in Southern Germany  256.34 EUR / t significantly less.

Larger quantities (26 t) were traded in April 2014 at the following rates :
North / East : 241.66 EUR / t , center: 239.29 EUR / t , Sud: 242.43 EUR / t (all including VAT )
