Incbio secures order for 8,000MT/year biodiesel plant in Kuala Lumpur
Incbio, a leading Portuguese engineering company, who specializes in state of the art fully automated industrial ultrasonic Biodiesel plants, has signed a contract with Biofuel Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Green Energy Group Limited, a public company whose shares are listed on the main board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, to supply an 8,000MT per year Biodiesel plant, to be installed in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
It will incorporate Incbio’s ultrasonic reactors, as well as solid catalyst acid esterification technology, to produce Biodiesel from Grease Trap Oil (aka Brown Grease) with up to 100% FFA, collected from municipal wastewater treatment plants, local councils and waste grease collectors in Malaysia.
This will be one of the most advanced Biodiesel plants in the world, utilizing technology that is both innovative and widely proven in Biodiesel production plants globally. Incbio has recently introduced solid catalyst technology for acid esterification of high FFA feedstock into its plants, result of many years of research by one of the leading chemical manufacturers in the world and widely proven in industrial applications.
Incbio and Green Energy Group expect the plant to be complete during the summer of 2013.
High FFA Feedstock
José Marques, Incbio’s CEO, said: “We have worked closely with Green Energy Group in the technology selection and are extremely happy to have been given the opportunity to assist them in their expansion plans. By using our heterogeneous catalyst based multi-feedstock technology, industrial units are able to convert a wide range of raw materials into high quality Biodiesel, exceeding the strict standards of EN14214 and ASTM D6751.”
The plant will be able to process any type of animal fat or vegetable oil refinery waste, but is intended to process mainly Grease Trap Oil, a waste product which is currently being landfilled by municipalities. As long as the appropriate pre-treatment of the feedstock is carried out, the plant will run seamlessly, from 1 year up to 3 years without replacing the catalyst.
