Plans announced for a 250 000 t/y Pellets plant later added with a jet-fuel production
Silvanus Energy AS has presented a project for pellet production in Grenland with pulp wood from Telemark as feed stock. Grenland is located in the south west of Norway. The project is managed by Jan Fredrik Garvik CEO of SamKraft AS a company developing and marketing products for analysis’s and trade in the energy market. He is also owner of the wood trading company Søgene Tre AS. Sylvanus Energy has earlier announced plans for a biocoal, torrefaction plant which now might be realized. Silvanus Energy was created in 2012 and announced 2012,administrated by Holden Capital an emission to finance the proposed project.
The investment volume for the pellet plant is estimated to 350 MNok around 45 MEuro and the plant should be on line in 2016. Main market is the power sector in the UK. The later project with biofuels has a five time larger investment volume. They are evaluating three different options, plasma technology, Fisher Tropsch and one third still still secret option according Jan Fredrik Garvik tells the Norwegian magazine SkogIndustri.
