Schmack GmbH, a member of the Viessmann group, partnered with NPG Energy to break ground this July on the construction of a 3MW digester plant in Bocholt, Belgium. The plant will consist of three COCCUS Titan 3000 fermenters, three storage tanks and one digestate storage tanks. Once completed, it will have the capability of processing approximately 60,000 tons of organic material per year.

The project involves a two-strand system to individually ferment plant and animal derived input materials; this is necessary to hygienize the animal material.

Two Combined Heat and Power (CHPs) will feed electricity directly into the grid. Construction completion is planned for the summer of 2014.
