Linköping Technical plants have signed contracts for a new CHP. The main suppliers to the new power plant is Alstom Power Sweden AB ( exhaust gas cleaning ) , Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Italiani SpA ( turbine ) , Fisia Babcock Environment GmbH ( boiler) and Peab Sweden AB ( the building)
Yesterday a contracts with four major suppliers to build a new power plant on Gärstad area was signed . The new plant will ensure Linköping energy , improve the environment and lay the foundations for further development of the city and region.
– The project is the largest single investment in the company , says Anders Jonsson, managing director .
– We have ambitious goals for a sustainable society and it feels good that we are now on track to take another step in that direction. The new CHP plant is a project that enhances the growth of an already strong region by creating many jobs during construction.
The facility will be on Gärstad area adjacent to the building with a glass facade at the main highway E4 and have a similar design. The investment in the new CHP plant , the effect of which will be of approximately 80 MW , amounting to 1050 million SEK (120 M Euro).
– This is an important step in reducing the carbon footprint and to achieve the environmental objectives of Linköping has set up , says Gösta Gustavsson , Chairman Technical turbines. It is also very positive that we can now begin the phase of power plant in central Linköping.
