Since the pellet plant in Ystad was closed down a few years ago there was no pellet production in Skåne, the southmost region of Sweden. But now Loarps farm has started a subsidiary, Loarps Energy. Production has been running since August and it is now available in stores. Next year they will reach a capacity of 20 00o t/y.

Loarp Energy offers pellet of Swedish raw material without long journeys and it has gone well, this year’s production is already sold.
–  We have teamed up with two local dealers for both bags and bulk, says plant manager Andreas Rosenkvist.

Loarp Energy will this seasson produce approximately 10,000 tonnes of pellets and next year double the production when  processes and distribution channels are properly tuned .
Today the pellets are made from dry shavings from Södra saw mill in Värö. But a belt dryer and boiler has been purchased and  next year Loarp will also use sawdust from Traryd saw mill.
– When we completed the process line with a new dryer from Germany we are able to use wet sawdust. Our focus will be on producing 20 000 tonnes per year , ends Andreas Rosenkvist.
